SCHOOL COUNCIL
The Ridge Church School exists under the mandate of the Accra Ridge Church Council. The operation of the school was possible after proposals to establish it were accepted by the congregation of the Church and a decision was taken by the Church Council at its meeting in January, 1955. The Church Council has delegated responsibilities of running the school to a nine-member Board of Governors, which reports regularly to the Church Council regarding the general progress of the school. Major decisions, therefore are subject to the Church Council’s approval. The Board Chairperson represents the School Board on the Church Council.
RIDGE CHURCH SCHOOL BOARD OF GOVERNORS
The Ridge Church School Board of Governors has been delegated with the responsibility of running the school by the Church Council. This is a nine-member board, led by a Chairperson who is supported by a Vice Chair. The Board is responsible for the provision of quality education for all learners. They work as a team to raise educational standards in the school. They also promote effective teaching and learning as they set the schools’ aims and policies. The School Board of Governors work in conjunction with the head of the school, who oversees the day to day management of the school.
STAFF
The School is run by a Head appointed by the Church Council in collaboration with the Board of Governors, three Assistant Heads: one for Pre-School and Lower Primary, another for Upper Primary and the other for the J.H.S. Department. All teachers are suitably qualified.
PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION
A Parent-Teacher association was inaugurated in 1958. The association has its own elected executive members and plays a useful role in the life of the school. A financial contribution determined by the PTA Executive from time to time is payable termly.
